Being a Grown, BLACK Woman is wonderful!

So often, girls try to tear each other down and talk badly about one another in secret but recently, I have experience so many kind words and lots of love between the women on my campus!

The students at North Carolina A&T are a ray of sunshine most days. People here, while being extreme critics, are wonderful to one another. We support each other and build each other up and I love that, especially when it comes to the young women on campus. Not a day goes by where I don’t hear a girl compliment another girl SINCERELY. That, to me, is hope! Makes me feel that maybe, one day, our community might stick together and help each other.

Something as simple as a compliment can change EVERYTHING. :)

Yesterday I realized that no matter how much I love others, some will continue to hate me.

That’s the life of being a black.

That’s the life of being a black girl.

That’s the life of being a black girl that is complete.

Heck, that’s the life of being a black girl that is whole and LOVES JESUS about all else… and is satisfied with that.

That’s the life, even though all I wanna do is share my heart with everyone I come into contact with…

Somehow all of my beliefs are too strong and when I try to give peace of mind people always respond as if I’m placing a gun in their back.

If I have to accept the fact that you think what I base my LIFESTYLE on is garbage, just respect what I have to say. Accept my stance.

My parents always told me to stand firm in what I believe so here it goes…

I am a beautiful, black, young, gifted, blessed BELIEVER. I am a Christian, I am a daughter, I am a mentor, and I am a friend. I love people that hate me and pray for the ones that talk about me. I’m trying to live right but I make mistakes daily. I will not back down, shut up, or sit down on anything that I believe.

I wish to be accepted but I am willing to die alone if GOD has the glory in my life, now that’s the boldest line I ever wrote.

Ok, so maybe I have been ignoring my feelings but I don’t want to be sad… I don’t want to cry for someone that Jesus healed, even if her healing came through death.

I don’t know, I just wanna live my life. I’m over sad songs and pity parties, I’m just willing to let God do his thing and try to roll with the punches.
